Happy Monday, everyone! It’s a gorgeous September morning and I’m happy to be back at my serenity place of woman connection where we welcome you on the journey to living and walking in your truths. I am happy, healthy, refreshed and ready to rock and roll with you guys! I will be sharing peeks into my days of summer madness in future conversations, but I also have special guests waiting in the wings to share insights on their journey to becoming with you. Today, please help welcome a friend and colleague to Authentic Woman: Ms. Marcie Hill.
Generally speaking, I live a vibrant and active life. I do at least one thing I love doing each day: writing, blogging, encouraging others, roller skating or reading. Who could not appreciate such a life, right? Not many people can say that they do what they enjoy on a daily basis.
Well, earlier this year, I wasn’t living my life to the fullest. I wanted to volunteer as a writing coach at the local library and to take photography lessons. I put both activities on hold because I was looking for a job, which never came.
When I think about how I put things I wanted to do on hold, waiting in expectation for something that never came, I feel rather disappointed. Thankfully, I wasn’t putting my life on hold. But what if I was putting my life on hold waiting for something that never came? I would be devastated.
As I write this, my heart cries for those people who put their lives and dreams on hold for whatever reason.
After my reality check, I vowed to do things differently. I am going to volunteer at my local library for two hours per week. During my interview for the job that’s on the way (pray for a 3 day/24 hour work week for me), I’m going to let them know my upcoming commitment and adjust my schedule to fit my commitment.
Also, I called my friend to ask him if the offer for photography lessons is still open. I love taking pictures and I want to get better. It would also be a pleasant addition to my writings, and save me from copy-writing lawsuits. (FYI – “borrowing” images from Google is stealing).
Those were my lessons in not living. If there is anything you have been putting on hold for any reason, including a lack of funds, pray for the ability and means to change your situation. Also, put your dreams on a vision board where you can see them every day.
Most importantly, whatever you decide to do, be sure to live your life to the fullest.
